Content and Corrections Policy

Version 1.0 · updated 7 September 2026

How Falose writes about products, how anyone gets an error corrected, and how a brand gets a right of reply. This policy binds us, and it applies to product pages, scores, receipts, reels, share cards, the assistant and every other place a product is described.

1. Facts, not adjectives

We print what the label says and arithmetic on it. We do not call a product junk, unhealthy, harmful, misleading, a scam, or any other verdict. We do not say a product causes or prevents any disease. The only judgment on a Falose receipt is a rule stated in one sentence: sugar above 5 g per 100 ml in a drink, or 22.5 g per 100 g in food; sodium above 200 mg per 100 ml or 600 mg per 100 g; fat above 17.5 g per 100 g. Lines that cross a rule print in red. Nothing else does.

2. Claims beside facts

When a front-of-pack claim can be placed beside a fact from the same pack, we print both, quoted. For example, a flavour named on the front beside the fruit named in the ingredients with its percentage. We do not add a characterisation. The reader draws the conclusion.

3. Every number is dated and sourced

Every record shows where it came from (a pack photograph, a brand submission, a web page, Open Food Facts) and when the label was read. Every receipt and reel prints the label date. Data read from web pages by an AI model is marked "unverified" until a person at Falose checks it against the pack, and unverified records never appear in ranked lists.

4. How to get something corrected

Anyone: use "Report" on the product page or write to grievance@falose.com. Brands: write with a photograph of the current pack label. We acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days. If the pack supports the correction, we correct the record, recompute the score, mark the change on the record with the date, and re-render any receipt or reel we still distribute. If the pack does not support it, we say so and why.

5. Right of reply

A brand may supply one short factual statement, up to 300 characters, about a listing of its own product. We display it beside the record, marked as the brand's statement, unless it makes a health claim, disparages another product, or is untrue on its face.

6. What we take down, and when

Pack photographs that show a person, personal data, or a pack the uploader did not lawfully hold: removed on notice. A photograph a contributor asks us to stop using: removed from public view within 7 days. Content that a court or competent authority orders removed: removed as ordered. Reviews or votes that are abusive, spam, fraudulent, or coordinated: removed, and the account may be closed.

7. Reels and share cards

A reel or share card is a rendering of the product record on its date and is subject to this policy. It carries the label date, the source type, and the address where the full record can be checked. When a record is corrected we stop distributing the old rendering and publish the new one.

8. The assistant

The assistant answers from Falose's own catalogue and published explainers. It is told to report facts with sources, to refuse to diagnose or prescribe, and to say when a product is not in the catalogue. Its answers are AI-generated and labelled as such.

9. Complaints about this policy

Grievance Officer: Mihir Panchal, grievance@falose.com. We acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days, as the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules 2021 require. If you are not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India for personal-data matters or a consumer forum for others.
